When Magnus dies only a few months into their marriage, Alec knows he should grieve and try to start moving on, but he can’t let go of the hope that he might be able to get Magnus back.
Meanwhile, Magnus isn’t dead so much as unable to be seen or heard, or to affect anything.
The warlock Ayyash is loosely based on one of my favourite characters in Skyrim, Master Neloth of House Telvanni.
